Duties and Responsibilities of Women's Ministry Council Members

Historian

Reflect on our community as it lives in the covenant

  1. Have pictures taken at all Women's Ministry and church activities. You can do this yourself or assign someone to do it for you.
  2. Write an annual supplementary history. Submit this history to the Women's Ministry council and the Session for approval. (The history might be presented or distributed at a general meeting of the women or before the whole congregation in a service of thanksgiving for God's blessing through the year.)
  3. Submit the history for the calendar year, Jan. 1-Dec. 31. One copy is kept for Archives, Covenant Theological Seminary.

Instructions for writing the history

  1. Use special paper with metal reinforced holes. An acid free paper or Eaton's paper, high permanency feature, 31-620-10, heavy weight, 8 ½ by 11 inches, standard three-ring with copper reinforces. If this cannot be purchased locally, it can be ordered from the PCA Archives, Covenant Theological Seminary.
  2. On the first page in the top center place:
  • Name of Presbytery
  • Name of Church
  • City
  • Date-Year
  1. On all other pages, in the upper left corner, place:
  • Name of church
  • City
  • Year
  1. Type single-spaced on one side of the paper only. Record dates and names accurately. Copy all items and quotations as for a book and cite authority upon which these items are based.
  2. Secure pictures of ministers, officers, groups, buildings, meetings and such. Black and white pictures are preferred. Paste only one picture on a page, or not more than two small ones with identification of each person in the picture as far as possible. Include these with the history.
  3. More information on writing history may be obtained from the PCA Archives.
  1. Submit all correspondence and histories to her successor.

College Ministry

Continue our covenant community to our college students

  1. Obtain information on all CPC college students interested in participating . (addresses, birthdays, exam dates, etc.)
  2. Enlist a group of volunteers to send notes, cards, and anything else they feel led to send to their college student.
  3. Send care packages to all college students for special occasions and holidays.
