David and Eowyn Stoddard

David and Eowyn Stoddard live in Berlin, Germany.

Children: Jesse (10/20/98), Liam (6/15/2000) and Alethea Grace (8/16/02)

David and Eowyn Stoddard are in Berlin, Germany with Mission to the World, the PCA's mission sending agency where they are working as church-planters. The first task for David is to become fluent in German. They have been in Berlin since January 2001. Daily life includes language school for David and taking care of the children for Eowyn. They are making evangelistic contacts with non-Christians and developing mentoring relationships with German Christians. Since they are young and relatively new on the field, they are learning from more experienced missionaries about the challenges of church-planting in the former East and getting their feet wet through serving the team in various capacities (team finances, worship leading, attending cell-church meetings).

Team Berlin has invited us to be a part of their church-planting ministry. Three cell churches already exist and our task will be to plant a new cell church aimed at young couples. The team has found an openness to the Gospel among East Berliners in this age group and believes we could be effective in reaching out to them. Long term, David will be involved in the theological education of cell church leaders through the ministry of the team's theological institute.
