Glen and Jeanie Turner live in Ecuador where Glen is a teacher of Linguistic Science with Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Their many years have been spent in translating Scriptures in various languages including Colorado, Chachi, Secoya, Waor Salasaca, and Saraguro
Currently the Turners are consulting with the Shuar Old Testament translators and teaching linguistics courses in Ecuador as part of a service being planned for preparing Latin American students to join in Bible translation. Along with this work, Glen will be in a reading program for becoming recurrent in the linguistic field, along with developing skills in the applications of computer programs for enhancing and speeding up all areas of linguistic and ethnographic research as well as for literacy and translation applications. Glen writes, "We are finding this, as well as the yearly travel plans between the U.S., Ecuador, and Guatemala an expensive undertaking. All of which makes us even more grateful for each of you who has both prayed and sacrificially given that together we might see the Lord's work accomplished. We make a great team!"
Regarding the translation work he writes, "We have been getting good reports from Makuma on the progress of checking the translation. The enemy is not asleep but the translators are making progress both in the checking and in developing the ability for comprehension checking, though of course not all of them are learning equally."
