Covenant Presbyterian Church is part of the Presbyterian Church of America which means it is ruled by Elders and Deacons nominated and elected by the Congregation.
Officers of the Church
The church officers are made up of Elders, Deacons and Directors.
Teaching Elders minister the Word of God, are called by the Congregation, examined, received, ordained and installed by the Presbytery to serve as Pastor(s) to the local church.
Ruling Elders are biblically qualified men of the church elected by the congregation and appropriately ordained to this high office by the ordained Elders of the church present at the service of ordination and installation.
Deacons are biblically qualified men of the church elected by the congregation and appropriately ordained to this hofh office by the ordained Elders of the church present at the service of ordiantion and installation.
Directors are the Clerk of the Session, the Chairman of the Diaconate, the Church Treasurer, the Senior Pastor of the Church and four other members of the Church elected by the congregation to a one year term. Those members serving one year terms may succeed themselves in office.
