We believe in providing a good foundation for our covenant children. We offer assistance to parents in their God-given task of nurturing their children in the faith by providing several opportunities.

Children’s Sunday School is available to potty-trained two-year-old children through fifth graders. Our denominational curriculum is used to creatively teach the children about Jesus and His love for His people.

Music Camp

Every summer, CPC holds Music Camp for children age five through sixth grade. This week-long camp, focuses on a Bible-based musical that the children present on the Sunday evening following the camp.  Through learning music, children are taught spiritual truths which help plant the seeds of faith. Crafts, recreation, Bible class, and many other camp-style activities are enjoyed during this week-long event. This camp is open to anyone in the community.

Covenant corps

During the school year Covenant Corps, for children who are three years old through fifth grade, meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. The program emphasizes Bible study, scripture memorization and catechism work. Holly Lehmann coordinates our children’s program.

Covenant Corps is divided into two different age groups:

Covenant Critters (age 3 to 2nd grade) The Covenant Critters program teaches the First Catechism as well as Bible stories to our preschool and young elementary-school-aged children. Music, crafts, stories and learning are all mixed together to provide a multi-sensory atmosphere for learning about who God is and what He has done for us.

Covenant Company (3rd to 5th grade) Covenant Company seeks to broaden the foundational concepts learned in Covenant Critters and develop a deeper understanding of our Reformed Christian heritage. Using the Westminster Shorter Catechism as well as Bible text, children are challenged in many fun ways to engage the truths of our Tri-Personal God.

Children in Worship

A nursery is provided for children under thirty-six months. We choose to have the children join us for the entire worship service in lieu of children’s church. Children’s bulletins that correspond to the message or worship attribute are available each Sunday. On the second Sunday of the month a special children’s message is presented during the worship service.

Children’s Choirs

Covenant’s Call (grades 1st to 6th) is a fun-filled choir for our children which meets during the fall on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Covenant’s Call is under the direction of Jeremy Gaines. God’s Kids (Pre-school to K) is in the capable hands of Diane Lazor. God’s Kids enjoy time in musical activities as well as learning songs in which they perform with the older choirs. Our children learn basic elements of music education as well as music for programs they present at Christmas each year.

A well-staffed, safety-conscious nursery is available during both the morning and the evening services on Sunday. A Wednesday night nursery is also provided following the evening meal.
